New Orleans…Emmis Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: EMMS) today announced that television sales veteran Jeff West has been named Vice President/General Manager of Fox 8, WVUE-TV in New Orleans.
“Over the past two years at Fox 8, Jeff has demonstrated his capabilities as both a broadcaster and a leader. We are pleased that Jeff will be taking the helm of this growing station,” Randall Bongarten, president of Emmis Television, said.
West has served as WVUE’s General Sales Manager since February 2003. Previous experience includes: General Sales Manager of Mobile’s WKRG-TV (1999-2003); account executive, local sales manager and national sales manager at Charlotte’s WBTV (1994-1999); advertising sales representative for Raycom (1992-1994); sales representative for Blair Television in Atlanta (1990-1992); and account executive at WATE in Knoxville (1988-1990).
West, a graduate of the University of Georgia, replaces Joe Cook, who is retiring. West will begin his new responsibilities March 4.
