This morning Judge Kimba Wood of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York agreed that, by mutual consent of the parties, the Court will issue a permanent injunction to keep Troi Troian (aka Star) off the air in the New York City metro area through January 14, 2005.
This brings the matter to a close.
“Our claims have been upheld and we feel vindicated by the judge’s ruling today,” said Barry Mayo, SR VP/GM of Emmis-New York. “I’m a man of my word and I honor my commitments, and I expect Emmis employees and ex-employees to be held to the same standard. That’s what this court action was all about. With the contract issues settled, I look forward to some healthy competition. Hot 97 will remain No. 1.”
