McGuire Named Executive Producer of The Daily Buzz

Indianapolis…Emmis Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: EMMS) and ACME Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACME) today announced that Troy McGuire has been named Executive Producer of The Daily Buzz, a weekday morning news program that airs in 127 markets on broadcast and cable stations.

“Troy’s energy and experience in television news made him the right choice to lead The Daily Buzz,” Randall Bongarten, President of Emmis Television, said.

“He is well respected in the industry, and his vision will help drive the expansion of The Daily Buzz into new markets,” added Doug Gealy, President of ACME Communications.

In January, 2004, ACME Communications and Emmis formed a 50/50 joint venture to produce The Daily Buzz, which runs from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and is targeted at a younger audience than traditional morning news shows

McGuire has worked in television news since 1991. Since 2002, McGuire has served as News Director of KPTV-TV, the Fox affiliate in Portland, Ore. From 2000-2002, he was the news director at KTVN-TV, the CBS affiliate in Reno, Nev.; from 1997-2000, he was the executive producer at KHQ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Spokane, Wash., and from 1996-97, he was the creative producer of WWOR-TV, the UPN affiliate in New York. From 1991-96, he was a producer with stops at KSEE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Fresno; WBNS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio; KRNV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Reno; and KAME-TV, the Fox affiliate in Reno.

McGuire is a graduate of Fresno State (Bachelor of Arts) and Gonzaga universities (Master of Arts). He assumes his new responsibilities by May 31.
