Stern Named PD at Q101

Indianapolis…Emmis Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: EMMS) today announced that Mike Stern is returning to Emmis as the Program Director for Chicago’s WKQX (Q101).

In making the announcement, Q101 Vice President/General Manager Chuck DuCoty said “Mike’s experience in the alternative rock format, coupled with his ability to create compelling, successful radio stations, makes him the perfect fit for Q101.”

Stern has served as PD of WLZR-FM in Milwaukee since August 2002. Before joining Lazer 103, Stern was PD for Emmis-owned KXPK-FM in Denver (March 1999 – October 2000) before being promoted to Operations Manager for both KALC-FM and KXPK-FM in Denver (October 2000 – May 2002). He has also served as PD of WKRK-FM in Detroit (July 1998 – March 1999), KXTE-FM in Las Vegas (May 1996 – July 1998) and WXEG-FM in Dayton. He is a graduate of Michigan State University.
